In my spare time (I remember that concept), I enjoy reading -- especially a good mystery -- and travel to almost anywhere. Playing with and babysitting for my grandchildren has become the special treat.
My cat, Sofi, wishes I would not travel at all. (Bella 2003-2004, and Cocoa-- 1986-1997 are much missed.) (Furris Mew-ler has disappeared. Furry was dropped off at our house as a small kitten in June of 1990. Our son fed her and she was ours. She was a feral cat, never one to become really comfortable with people, but friendly in her own way. We fed her on the window sill to give her protection from all the dogs in the neighborhood. She survived hard winters and our vacations. We are sure we were not the only ones feeding her. She disappeared in January 2004, apparently still in good health.) Brittany is also no longer with us, though with a happier story. Brittany often spent time with my sister and her husband while we were traveling. When our house was flooded in January 2003, the visit was extended for 5 1/2 months during our construction and renovation. At the end of that time, we decided it would be best for everyone to have Brittany stay with her new family. She is very happy there. Ironically, her new family suffered severe flood damage in September of 2003 and all residents of the area are required to move. So, Brittany now has yet another new home.)
